A friend of mine asked me why artists tend to be so liberal.
I think that there are many strands that contribute to this, however I would like to add one more to this.
According to Jonathan Edwards, the imagination is the faculty by which the Devil tempts us. Some people have much stronger imaginations than others. Artists generally do so I think. So perhaps this is one way.
Just a tentative thought.
